Stevek wanted freestyle skiing to enrich our lives, not necessarily define it. To Stevek, mogul skiing was an athletic pursuit but also more: it pushed you mentally and physically, taught you toughness and grit, showed you how to do things you didn't think were possible and reminded everyone of the importance of a team.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will be posting stories from those who knew Stevek and were impacted by him. You will be hearing from former athletes, many of whom are now coaches. You will hear from athletes that have made great strides in the sport of freestyle. You will hear from coaches who worked with Stevek and saw firsthand how he helped the sport and the athletes that participated in it. Lastly, you will hear from his friends who will tell you about Stevek and what he meant to Stratton and the sport of freestyle.
